While attending college at Nihon University, in 1988, Kentaro Miura debuted a 48-page manga known as Berserk Prototype, an introduction to the current Berserk fantasy world. It went on to win Miura a prize from the Comi Manga School. In 1989, after receiving a doctorate degree, Kentarou started a project titled King of Wolves based on a script by Buronson, writer of Hokuto no Ken (Fist Of The North Star).In 1990, the first volume Berserk was released with a relatively limited success. Miura again collaborated with Buronson on manga entitled Japan. Miura's fame grew after Berserk began "The Golden Age" story arc and the huge success of this masterpiece made of him one of the most prominent contemporary manga artists.In 1997, Miura supervised the production of 25 anime episodes of Berserk that aired in the same year on NTV. The series has also spawned a whole host of merchandise, both official and fan made, ranging from statues and action figures, to key rings, video games, and a trading card game. In 2002, Kentaro Miura received the second place in the Tezuka Osamu (Astro Boy) Cultural Prize of Excellence for Berserk. The author lives in Tokyo, Japan.

Obwohl ich Hardcover hasse wie die Pest, kann ich dieser ziemlich guten Deluxe Edition keine Punkte abziehen. Klar, man könnte jetzt anfangen über das Preis/Leistung-Verhältnis zu diskutieren, das ist hier mal wieder abseits von tragbar, aber damit muss man leider bei solchen Editionen immer rechnen. Ist halt ein teures Hobby. Fangt mit 40k an wenn ihr günstiger wegkommen wollt ;PDer Einband ist Mega solide und das Kunstleder lässt das ganze super Edel aussehen, aber auch nicht ZU edel, ich mein wir reden hier von Berserk, die Verpackung sollte nicht vom Inhalt hinwegtäuschen, hier gibt's 24/7 auf die Fressleiste.Um es zusammenzufassen, der Band macht einiges her und bringt auch den Dark-Fantasy-Charakter von Berserk gut zum Ausdruck. Schönes Ding.Das Buch ist leider nicht in Telefonbuch-Größe, was ich bei zB der Blame! Neuauflage als immense Aufwertung empfand, aber jede vergrößerung ist mMn eine Aufwertung und die Zeichnungen von Miura kommen hier voll zur Geltung. Hammer. Wunderschön. Grußkartenpotenzial, vor allem die 2-Seiten-panorama Zeichnungen. (Nein, lasst das lieber mit den Grußkarten wenn Ihr weiterhin Freunde haben wollt)Des weiteren sollte man einmal das Gewicht ansprechen... falls Ihr selber den Stahlträger von Guts schwingen wollt wie einen Holzkochlöffel, solltet ihr spätestens nach dem Lesen von Deluxe Edition Band 3 soweit sein. Die Dinger sind schwer. Sau schwer. Ich wollte schon das Lesepult von unserer kleinen Dorfkapelle mopsen damit ich meine Ausgabe nicht vollschwitze wenn ich darauf vor Erschöpfung ohnmächtig werde.Sonst keine weiteren Punkte denke ich. Viel Spaß dabei.*uiuiui da bin ich direkt ins Fettnäpfchen getreten, die Berserk Deluxe Edition ist DOCH im Telefonbuch-Format wie die Blame! Master Edition! Berserk wirkte nur kleiner. Sry für die falsche Info.*
Die ersten drei Volumen in einem Band.Der Buchrüchen ist aus Leder.Der Verband vom Bund gefällt mir sehr, da man für so einem großen Buch (fast 700 Seiten) so einen Verband braucht. Dark horse hat mich mit der Qualität der Herstellung gar nicht enttäuscht. ES GIBT SOGAR EIN LESEZEICHEN.Die beigifüten Bilden drucken das besser als meine Worte.Ich empfehle es weiter. Man muss es nicht zweimal bedenken, diesen Artikel zu kaufen!
It's very heavy, definitely not suitable for travel reading but this is meant to be put on display. Just gorgeous edition, very glad we finally have a proper Berserk release.
I love good stories and I love expensive looking books, this combines the two of them into a single product.
Das ist mit Abstand der beste Manga-Release aller zeiten. Besser als blame oder die jojonium hardcover Bände. Viele haben jahrelang darauf gewartet. Berserk hat diese ausgabe einfach nur verdient.
I have 0 complaints, the "book" looks gorgeous, amazing texture and quality. The drawings and text have good quality as well. I extremely recommend it if you plan on starting with the Mangas.
